DCS Announcement - Actively Adapting for Our Scholars

Dear DCS Scholars, Families and Friends,

I wanted to provide a DCS update that includes words and ACTIONS of encouragement during this crazy time.

As we continue to follow CDC Guidelines and pay attention to World Health Organization updates, I also want to share some practical things we're doing to understand the needs of our scholars and families:

  • Contacting each student to see how they're doing and if we can help in any way

  • Investigating and sharing wi-fi options for remote learning

  • Taking inventory of technology and general resources for scholars and families

  • Communicating specific needs to our networks and supporters

In the coming days we will set intentional rhythms of contact with our scholars to ensure they have what they need.

For Students With Immediate Financial Needs

SCHOLLY is offering a one time $200 student relief award that approved applicants will receive in June. Please read the Terms and Conditions.

In addition to these immediate steps,

DCS is moving forward with plans for Summer Session. In recent weeks we have received over 250 applications, interviewed all eligible candidates and we will announce Cohort 7 the first week of April. We are actively adapting Summer Session format to support our scholars in their pursuit of college fit and college admission.

Encouraging you to be overly cautious and stay safe,

Dr. Alleyne
